Individual Therapy
Our relationship with ourselves is the basis of our relationship with the world.
As an individual therapist, I focus on the strengths of an individual while helping them make sense of where they may be stuck in moving forward. I work with the individual to identify areas of growth, heal from trauma, and increase mindfulness about their internal and external worlds.
I have particular experience working those who:
Struggle to create boundaries with others and struggle to feel safe in relationships
Wish to heal old family wounds
Have generalized anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), other anxiety disorders
Have difficulty regulating emotions, impulsive behaviors, and trauma reactions
Have disordered eating/body image issues
Have difficulty understanding their own internal motivations, needs, thoughts, and feelings
My therapeutic approach is informed by my experience and training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe in using an integrative approach; I am particularly interested in how the brain and body connect with one another and stay up to date on research on techniques to use this connection to heal from trauma. I encourage collaboration and feedback to adjust my approach as needed to suit each client's needs.
